CITES Update October 2019

Good news for our International Customers.

CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) have now issued an official notification stating that restrictions in relation to all species of Dalbergia / Rosewood (excluding Brazilian Rosewood which remains restricted) included in finished Musical Instruments and Components will be lifted with effect from 26th November 2019.

The exemption includes imports and exports of finished Musical Instruments, finished Components, and finished Accessories which will no longer need a CITES permit. The exception applies to all species of Dalbergia except Brazilian Rosewood / Dalbergia Nigra, which remains on CITES Appendix I.

As a Company, we will continue to use Rosewood and all other Species of Timber responsibly, working closely with our suppliers to ensure that sustainable forestry practices are preserved. All Species of Timber used in all of our Guitars are catalogued and available to Customers on request.

We are now preparing a number of guitars for International shipment after 26th November – please get in touch if you’d like to order yours.

Hi Donell, thanks for your question. As stated in the above Blog Article, restrictions in relation to all species of Dalbergia / Rosewood (excluding Brazilian Rosewood which remains restricted) included in finished Musical Instruments and Components will be lifted with effect from 26th November 2019. We shipped our first guitar since the restriction have been lifted to the USA yesterday. Delivery time is 5 business days, it should be delivered on Friday. Our standard guitars and basses are shipped normally within 2 to 3 days to allow for final setup and quality inspection. Current build time for our UK Custom Built guitars and basses is 2 to 3 weeks. Which model has caught your eye? Thanks for your interest…

Would you build a gainford with a pre amp? If so would you give a rough price estimate? Thanks a lot!

With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement? My site has a lot of unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my authorization. Do you know any techniques to help protect against content from being ripped off? I’d really appreciate it.
