Cassidy Guitars Pickup Specifications

A lot of people ask what pickups are used on our Standard Guitars and Basses.

Well in order to match our Philosophy of producing great value guitars whilst not compromising on quality, we chose to develop our own range of pickups. Using modern production methods and the finest materials we have produced a small range of pickups matched to our guitars and in line with our philosophy of combining high quality and great value for money. Whilst these are not big name brand pickups, our Customers are pleasantly surprised at just how good they sound.

Detailed specifications of our range of pickups used on our Standard Guitars and Basses are outlined below.

Europa

Our Standard Metal Cased Humbucker available in Gold, Chrome or Black with a Classic Bues / Rock voicing.

Specs as follows : Metal cased Twin Coil Ceramic Bar Wax Potted Humbucker. Neck 7.2k, Bridge 16.0k 9.6H

Titan

Our Standard Open Humbucker with a Classic Bues / Rock voicing.

Specs as follows : Open Ceramic Bar Humbucker. Neck wound with AWG42 with Formvar Insulation 7.2k 3.8H, Bridge wound with AW43 with Formvar Insulation 16k 9.6H

Proteus

Alnico V Open Zebra Humbucker designed to deliver a smooth Vintage tone.

Specifications as follows : Open Zebra Humbuckers, Alnico V Magnets with 6 adjustable and 6 fixed poles. Neck wound with AWG42 with Formvar Insulation 7.2k 3.8H, Bridge wound with AW43 with Formvar Insulation 16k 9.6H

Designed to unleash the monstrous tones of our 7 String Axeman.

Specifications as follows : 7 String Open Humbucker with all fuixed poile pieces. High Output Ceramic Bar Magnets. Neck wound with AWG42 with Formvar Insulation 8.8k 4.5H, Bridge wound with AW43 with Formvar Insulation 18k 9.5H

Hyperion

Our standard ST Pickup Set available in SSS and HSS configurations.

Phoebe

Our standard split coil bass pickup delivering a classic fat smooth tone.

Oberon

Vintage voiced and designed to offer punch and definition in a variety of band styles.

Lo

Lo has been designed in order to offer maximum range of tone on our 5 String Active Bass.

Moon

Our standard Acoustic pickup uses a blend of mic and piezo with 1/4″ and XLR Outputs and onboard Tuner.

Note on branded Pickups

We have used Fishman Presys+ pickups on out Whorlton and Blackwell acoustics in the past. These have now been phased out and we will use JJB Prestige 330 systems as standard on our new Acoustic range.

We use a wide range of pickups on our UK Custom Build Electric Guitars and Basses including from the Seymour Duncan and Fender Custom Shop ranges, and we are happy to include whatever pickups are requested by the Customer in their build.

From time to time Customers request upgrades to the pickups in our Standard models, or undertake this work themselves. Whilst this may result in a marginal improvement in certain aspects of tone, we would always advise Customers to try the pickups as they are for a while and possibly consider upgrading the amplification used before modifying the guitar pickups.
