Customer Review : Cassidy UKCB T2 (Ash)
Review by Jonty Adams…
I had been thinking about a Telecaster for a while, I had my sights set on an American Standard until my guitar teacher, Simon Cassidy, told me to take a look at the Cassidy Custom Build Telecaster. I did and I haven’t been disappointed!
The body is simply beautiful; it has a fantastic high-gloss clear finish that showcases the amazing grain of the 3 piece solid ash body and figured maple neck has a rich honey finish, with classy abalone fret markers and Cassidy logo on the headstock. I also love the personal touch with the named neck plate!
It’s not all good looks either. The hardware supplied outstrips anything provided on any standard Fender. The tuners are Gotoh – combing a vintage look with modern day technology (lockable with adjustable height posts) – easy to get in tune and they stay in tune! The bridge is also Gotoh, again a solid, exquisitely engineered piece of kit allowing fine and accurate adjustments.
The Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups are excellent and the 4 way pick-up selector means the range of sounds available is staggering –classic telecaster twang, warm, rich tones, crunchy rock and more.
The really noticeable difference about this guitar is how well it plays – it has been set up by hand, everything sorted by someone who knows what they are doing. Just as Joe said about his Cassidy UKCB Jazz bass – low action, buzz-free and ready to rock and roll!! It just feels great!
I can’t recommend this guitar highly enough – everything is right – build quality, components, set-up. My mum always used to say you get what you pay for but I reckon I’ve got a custom shop kind of guitar for a standard kind of price!
