Featured Students : Peter and Josh Westwood

I have known Peter and Josh for sometime now. Josh started lessons first around 3 years ago and has progressed well and is now singing and playing in his band Mean Plastic Sharks.

Josh’s Dad Peter followed on starting lessons a couple of years ago – and has developed a taste for fine guitars…..

As I am having a couple of weeks off teaching, my good lady and I decided to take Peter up on his longstanding invitation to visit them at their Family Hotel near Hawes this afternoon.

Well worth the trip into the glorious Dales ountryside, the sun was even shining, and what a warm welcome we received at their beautiful family hotel just outside Hawes.

Stonehouse Hotel may be just the thing for you if you would like to get away from it all in the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire days give them a call – I’m sure thay’ll do a special rate for guitarists!! They are dog friendly too!!!

Peter is a real music fan and he has kept his concert tickets back to 1977 to prove it……many a tale to tell from these nights out………

Plenty to talk about over the bar, and if that’s not enough how about exotic sports cars or motorcycles?? Peter and his good lady Tracy are both keen motorcyclists enjoying recent trips to Italy on their Ducatis. The latest project at the Hotel is building a secure storage cabin for touring motorcyclists and mountain bikers who stay at the hotel to enjoy the unique scenery and participate in organised excursions led by Peter and Josh. Certainly a very interesting place, really nice people and well worth a visit.

But most of all I think Josh and Peter deserve a special mention for their endurance in travelling to Darlington in all weathers to improve their guitar playing. I didn’t realise how far it was for you both, so as a token of my appreciation and recognition of your commitment I am pleased to say to both of you that  your next lesson will be free!!!

This is one place to put on my list to visit. Wonder if I can get my guitar in my little red car to take with us.

Yes Neil, I think you and Penny would like it. You’d also like Peter’s Porsche – it would look well next to your Ferrari – that sight would certainly frighten a few of the local sheep!!!
