Thanks to Ken and his good lady at Mojo Guitar Shows for organising a great guitar day out at The North Yorkshire Guitar Show at Thirsk yesterday. Great to meet lots of interesting people including old students John and Paul Waldock and Sean Clarke.

It was really interesting and a great privilege to meet true gent and worldwide musical instrument / accessories manufacturer / distributor John H Skewes and his wife Madge.

It was fascinating to hear from the man himself how he (with the support and guidance of Madge!) set up his Company from humble beginnings in the early 1960’s to today’s largest family-owned independent musical merchandise distributor in the UK

Also a pleasure to meet independent guitar maker Mark Lythgoe who gave us a great insight into the materials and construction methods used in his custom made acoustic and classical guitars. Big thanks also to Endorsed Artist Ste Chapman who turned up on time after very little sleep and helped me all day with the setup / breakdown with great conversation over copious amounts of tea and sandwiches throughout the day. Thanks Ste – I couldn’t have drunk all that tea without you!
