Alex worked hard since she started lessons in July 2011 and then quickly went on to achieve a Distinction at Grade 2 Electric guitar in the Winter 2011 exams.

Recognising Alex’s achievement, her parents Steve and Jen arranged a Christmas surprise (via Santa of course) in the form of a new and very nice EKO VL 480 Les Paul in Honeyburst Flamed finish, a Rok Sak Pro Deluxe Gig Bag, and a brilliant sounding Marshall MG15DFX.

Alex has been working on her new party piece ~ “Albatross” ~ or as my Dad used to refer to it whenever he asked me to play it for visitors “Alcatraz”!!!

As I have found out over the years this is one of a few pieces that never fails to impress when you find yourself in a position where you have to perform. Alex is just about there with it now and with her hard work and her new guitar set up it’s beginning to sound really nice. Well done Alex!!!
